6 Ways Robots Have Helped Humans

Robots have encroached upon our lives in one way or the other. Whether it is the smartwatch we use to track and send health informatics to our relatives or the automatic coffee dispenser, we are dealing with robots on a daily basis. However, robotics will see massive evolution in the form of hardware technology and smart intelligence over the upcoming years. Below, we will mention 6 things which we would not have been able to do without robots.
1. Military Services
Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) robots and UAV (Unmanned Aerial Vehicles) drones are some of the automatons used by the military all over the world.  These robots help in frisking through areas which have the danger of landmines, they are used for scoping enemy movements, find hidden explosives and for reconnaissance missions.
2. Vehicle manufacturing
Robots are used in the assembly lines of automobile industries to assist in building cars, motorbikes, and other vehicles. The automated robotic arms are programmed for utmost precision and unmatched endurance. Automotive industry robots are capable of performing a wide range of tasks such as installation, painting, welding and aligning.
3. Space Exploration
Remotely Operated Vehicles (ROV) and Remote Manipulator systems (RMS) are used in a variety of space missions to help assist humans in exploring the space in an amazing way. RMS help astronauts to perform arduous tasks in space and ROVs help in providing data and visuals of space. All this would not have been possible without the use of robotics in space exploration.
4.  Remote and Minimally-Invasive Surgery
Surgeons’ capabilities have expanded after the scope of robotic surgery has advanced to the level of remotely assisted robots. Surgeons perform remote surgeries in case of emergencies when traveling becomes impossible owing to the time-limit. Robotic surgeries have the advantage of greater accuracy, smaller incisions, and intent-free operations.
5. Underwater Exploration
The ocean floor shrouds in mystery and exploration demand hi-tech technology. And that is where robots come into play. Underwater robots are connected by cables and are equipped with HD cameras, motion sensors and other technologies which makes it possible for them to fathom the treacherous beds of the ocean floor.
6. Commercialized Agriculture
Robotic harvesters and other automatons are used by smart farmers to increase productivity and efficiency of farming methods. They are used in sowing seeds, pruning, weeding and spraying chemicals over pest-infested crops. Moreover, smart tech like advanced imaging help in monitoring the growth of the plant and also provide recommendations for soil preparation and water requirement.
The scope of robotics is not only limited to the above areas, but it has also expanded to other fields like space exploration, biotech, genetic mutation, mineral exploration, fighting crimes, assisting the elderly, in human resources, at restaurants and what not.
