If you want to activate parental control on your Kano computer then here is how to enable it. First, you need to go to settings Accessing Kano settings from dashboard mode:
1. Take your mouse pointer at the bottom right side of the screen.
2. Look for the ‘Cog’ icon and click on it.
3. This will open the ‘Settings’ menu.
Accessing Kano settings from classic mode:
1. Take your mouse pointer to the bottom left side of the screen.
2. And click on the ‘K’ symbol.
3. Then click on ‘Tools.’
4. And select ‘Settings.’ This will open the Kano settings menu.
Now, you can Enable Parental Controls.
1. Look for ‘Advance’ option into the settings menu and click on it.
2. Go to ‘Parental lock.’
3. And click on ‘Apply Changes.’ Now, you’ll see a password menu on the screen. 4. Into the password field, type a new password for the parental lock.
5. Click on ‘Lock.’ This will open a parental lock menu.
6. On the menu appear, click on the green color ‘Slider’ and adjust it as the settings you want.
7. Then click on ‘Apply changes’ and finished. Parental Control has been enabled on your Kano Computer, now your child is safe and can have fun without negative things. How to access Desktop Mode on Kano computer Kano has its own operating system Kano OS which is different from normal Windows OS. The applications on Kano screen are into the small boxes or in title mode.
This is a little bit confusing, to make this clear you can use desktop mode. Here is how to switch to desktop mode on Kano Computer.
1. Start your Kano Computer.
2. When you are on the dashboard menu, look for the Classic mode option. It may be at the bottom of the screen or the left side corner depending on your Kano OS layout.
3. Now, click on ‘Classic Mode.’ That’s it! You have switched to desktop mode. In classic mode, you will see a start button like in Windows at the bottom left corner of your desktop.
Click on it to open menu including your documents and applications. Everything is much clear and neater even applications icon of the desktop are arranged linearly.
